Tanning Doesn't Just Brighten Her Day

By Brooke Berryhill

Mariah Tombling, manager at Baja Beach Club, has lived in Tulsa all her life and thought she's had seen it all until the day she stepped in for a quick tan.

Mariah, 24, is your average young adult who found a nice place to get a good tan with some cheap prices. Everyday she would do her daily session and have a deep conversation with the owner of the club. One day she came in complaining about not having any money and the owner offered her a job right on the spot.

She has been working there for three years now and continues to tan for a reasonable cost. Mariah considers her boss as her long lost grandmother because they do everything together.

"Every Monday we drink wine and watch the Bachelor," she said. "I love my job because my boss is amazing."

Throughout her years of working at a tanning salon she has received a Esthetician and skin care license.

Mariah hopes to take over the club when her boss retires.
